Esen Buqa II
Esen Buqa II was khan of Moghulistan from about 1429 until his death in 1462. He ruled the eastern part of the khanate while his elder brother Yunus Khan, backed by the Timurids, contested the throne in the west. He gave refuge to the Kazakh sultans Kerei and Janibek, who broke away from the Uzbeks with their followers in the 1450s and founded the Kazakh Khanate in the Chu and Talas valleys.
