Eucharist
The Eucharist, also called Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper, is the Christian rite of bread and wine commemorating the Last Supper of Jesus. Its meaning divided the Reformation: Catholics taught transubstantiation, Luther a real bodily presence, and Zwingli a symbolic memorial, a disagreement left unresolved at the Marburg Colloquy of 1529. It remains the central act of worship in most Christian churches.
