Fiyanggu

1645–1701 · 17th century

Fiyanggu was a Manchu general of the Qing dynasty. During the Kangxi Emperor's campaign of 1696 against the Dzungar ruler Galdan, he led the western column across the Gobi and destroyed Galdan's army at the Battle of Jao Modo near the Tuul River. The victory broke Dzungar power in Khalkha Mongolia, and Fiyanggu later commanded Qing forces on the north-western frontier.
