Fon (title)
Fon is the title of the sacred kings of the chiefdoms and kingdoms of the Cameroon Grassfields, such as Nso, Bafut and Bali-Nyonga. A Fon rules with palace societies and regulatory societies, such as the Kwifon or Ngwerong, which enforce his decisions, carry out royal rituals and manage succession. Many Fons still reign as traditional rulers in the North-West Region of Cameroon.
