Gebel Sheikh Suleiman

c. 3000 BCE

Gebel Sheikh Suleiman is a rock outcrop near Wadi Halfa at the Second Cataract of the Nile in Sudan, which bore a rock relief of around 3000 BCE. The relief shows a captive tied to a boat and fallen enemies beside Egyptian royal symbols, recording one of the earliest Egyptian campaigns against Nubia. It was moved to the National Museum in Khartoum before Lake Nasser flooded the site.
