Ghardaïa
Ghardaïa is a city in the Algerian Sahara, the largest of the five Ibadi towns of the Mzab valley and the capital of Ghardaïa Province. Founded in the 11th century, it grew around a hilltop mosque, with houses descending in rings to the walls and palm groves. The Mzab towns were inscribed together as a World Heritage Site in 1982.
