Ginuwa
Ginuwa was a prince of the Benin Empire who, according to Itsekiri tradition, left Benin around 1480 with a group of followers and settled in the creeks of the western Niger Delta. His descendants founded the kingdom of Warri, and Ginuwa is remembered as the first Olu of Warri, ancestor of the Itsekiri royal line that still reigns.
