Glen Grey Act
The Glen Grey Act was a law of the Cape Colony passed in 1894 under Prime Minister Cecil Rhodes. It introduced individual land tenure in small plots for Africans in the Glen Grey district and later other areas, with local councils, and a labour tax on men who did not work outside their district. It limited African land ownership and became a model for later segregation policy.
