Grand coutumier de Normandie

13th century · 13th century

The Grand coutumier de Normandie is a compilation of the customary law of Normandy, written in Latin in the mid-thirteenth century and soon translated into French. Officially revised in 1583 as the Coutume de Normandie, it remained the law of the province until the French Revolution. It still underlies the customary law of the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey.
