Griquatown
Griquatown is a small town in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, north of the Orange River. It began as Klaarwater, a London Missionary Society station founded in the early 1800s among the Griqua, and was renamed in 1813, when the missionary John Campbell helped the community adopt a written constitution. It was the early centre of the Griqua under the Kok and Waterboer families.
