Person
Gunakamadeva
Gunakamadeva was a king of the Kathmandu Valley in the Thakuri period, traditionally placed in the 10th century. Later Nepalese chronicles credit him with founding the city of Kantipur, which became Kathmandu, and with establishing festivals and shrines there. His reign is known mainly from these chronicles rather than from contemporary records.
