Person
Gutuater
Gutuater was a leader of the Carnutes in Gaul, held responsible by the Romans for the massacre of Roman merchants at Cenabum in 52 BCE, which began the great revolt of Vercingetorix. After the revolt failed, he was handed over to Julius Caesar, who had him executed in 51 BCE. His name may in fact be a Gallic priestly title.
