Havana
Havana is the capital and largest city of Cuba, founded by the Spanish in 1515 and moved to its present site on a sheltered bay around 1519. It became the gathering port of the treasure fleets and was heavily fortified; it was the capital from 1607. The British held it in 1762–1763, and its old town and fortifications are a World Heritage Site.
