Comanche
The Comanche, who call themselves Numunuu, are a Native American people who split from the Shoshone and moved onto the southern Plains in the early 18th century. Mastering the horse, they built a powerful raiding and trading domain, Comancheria, from Kansas to northern Mexico, and resisted Spain, Mexico, Texas and the United States. They were confined to a reservation in Indian Territory in 1875.
