Herat school
The Herat school was a tradition of Persian miniature painting and book arts that flourished in Herat under Timurid patronage, especially in the late fifteenth century. Its most celebrated master was Bihzad. It established an aesthetic tradition that the Safavid and Mughal courts later developed, a lasting cultural legacy of the Timurid Empire.
