Imperial Conference
The Imperial Conferences were periodic meetings in London of the prime ministers of the self-governing parts of the British Empire with the British government, held from 1907 to 1937. Successors to the Colonial Conferences begun in 1887, they discussed defence, trade and the constitutional relationship of the dominions. The 1926 conference adopted the Balfour Declaration, recognising the dominions as equal in status with Britain.
