Isa Bey Mosque

1374–1375 · 14th century

The Isa Bey Mosque is a mosque in Selçuk, near ancient Ephesus in western Turkey, built in 1374–1375 for the Aydinid ruler Isa Bey by the architect Ali ibn al-Dimishqi. Its plan, with a large courtyard and a prayer hall set across the long side, reused columns from earlier buildings and anticipates features of later Ottoman mosque design.
