Jean-Claude Juncker

1954– · 20th century

Jean-Claude Juncker is a Luxembourg Christian Social politician who was prime minister from 1995 to 2013, by then the longest-serving head of government in the European Union. He chaired the Eurogroup of eurozone finance ministers from 2005 to 2013 and served as President of the European Commission from 2014 to 2019, a term marked by the migration crisis and Britain's vote to leave the Union. His government fell in 2013 over a scandal in the intelligence service.
