Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali is a port town on the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, about 35 kilometres south-west of the city centre. Its deep-water harbour, opened in 1979, is one of the largest man-made harbours in the world and the busiest port in the Middle East. The Jebel Ali Free Zone, set up in 1985, drew thousands of foreign companies and was central to Dubai's growth as a trading hub.
