Jehoram of Israel

r. c. 852–841 BCE · 9th century BCE · Also known as Joram of Israel

Jehoram, or Joram, was king of Israel in the mid-ninth century BCE, the son of Ahab and the last king of the House of Omri. He failed to reconquer Moab after the revolt of Mesha and fought the Arameans of Hazael at Ramoth-gilead. Around 841 BCE he was killed together with Ahaziah of Judah in the coup of Jehu, although the Tel Dan stele claims their deaths for an Aramean king.
