Joaquín Ascaso
Joaquín Ascaso was a Spanish anarchist of the CNT who presided over the Regional Defence Council of Aragon, created in October 1936 during the Spanish Civil War. The council organised agricultural collectives and supplies for the Aragon front. The Republican government dissolved it in August 1937, and Ascaso was arrested. After the war he went into exile in Latin America.
