fl. late 14th century · 14th century · Also known as Junayd al-Naqqash al-Sultani

Junayd was a Persian manuscript painter working in Baghdad for the Jalayirid sultan Ahmad Jalayir in the late 14th century. His signed illustrations to a copy of the poems of Khwaju Kirmani, dated 1396 and now in the British Library, are among the earliest signed Persian paintings. Their elegant figures in detailed landscapes and architecture influenced the Timurid school of painting.
