June Revolution
The June Revolution was an uprising in Albania in June 1924 that drove Ahmet Zogu from power and brought the Orthodox bishop and reformer Fan Noli to the head of the government. Noli promised land reform and democratic change but failed to win foreign recognition or hold elections. In December 1924 Zogu returned with Yugoslav support and White Russian mercenaries and overthrew him.
