Karmsund

Also known as Karmsundet

Karmsund (Karmsundet) is a narrow strait on the west coast of Norway between the island of Karmøy and the mainland near Haugesund. As a sheltered part of the coastal sea route, the 'North Way' that gave Norway its name, it was controlled by the kings who sat at Avaldsnes.
