Kasugayama Castle
Kasugayama Castle was a mountain castle near modern Jōetsu in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, and the seat of Uesugi Kenshin in the 16th century. From it the Nagao and Uesugi lords controlled Echigo Province. After the Uesugi were moved to Aizu in 1598 it was abandoned in the early 17th century for a new castle on the plain, and its earthworks are now a national historic site.
