Noto Province
Noto Province was a province of Japan covering the Noto Peninsula on the Sea of Japan coast, now the northern part of Ishikawa Prefecture. In the 16th century Uesugi Kenshin invaded it and took its main castle at Nanao. Under the Tokugawa shogunate it formed part of the lands of the Maeda clan's Kaga domain, the richest domain after the shogun's own.
