Kemalism
Kemalism is the ideology of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, built on six principles: republicanism, populism, nationalism, laicism, statism and reformism. Its reforms abolished the caliphate and Islamic law and remade Turkish society on Western models, inspiring modernizers abroad, while its nationalism long denied Kurdish identity.
