Khazen family
The Khazen family is a Maronite noble family of Mount Lebanon, whose sheikhs held the Keserwan district as tax-farming lords from the 17th century under the Ma'n and Shihab emirs. They were patrons of the Maronite Church and gained French consular posts. In 1858 to 1859 the peasants of Keserwan, led by Tanyus Shahin, revolted against them and expelled them from their lands.
