Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan is a port town on the Gulf of Oman coast of the United Arab Emirates, an exclave of the emirate of Sharjah. It was sacked by the Portuguese under Afonso de Albuquerque in 1507 and later came under Qasimi rule. Its deep-water harbour, outside the Strait of Hormuz, is now one of the region's main container ports.
