Khotogoid

The Khotogoid were a Mongol people of north-western Mongolia, part of the western Khalkha domain under the Zasagt Khan. Their princes took the title Altan Khan in the late sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, exchanged embassies with Russia and fought the Oirats for the lands of the upper Yenisei. They came under Qing rule with the rest of Khalkha at the end of the seventeenth century.
