Khosrow II

Khosrow II was the last great king of the Sasanian Empire, reigning in the late sixth and early seventh centuries CE. His long war against the Byzantine Empire brought Sasanian armies to Egypt and Anatolia before a Byzantine counter-offensive reversed these gains. He was overthrown and killed in 628, leaving an exhausted empire that soon fell to the Arab conquests.
