Azarmidokht

Azarmidokht was a Sasanian queen who ruled briefly around 630–631, during a period of rapid succession after the death of Khosrow II. She was one of two women, with her sister Boran, to occupy the Sasanian throne. Her short reign reflects the political chaos that weakened the Sasanian Empire shortly before the Arab conquest.
