Kitab al-Farq
Kitab al-Farq, or Book of the Difference, is a political treatise by Usman dan Fodio, founder of the Sokoto Caliphate. It contrasts just Islamic government with the practices of the Hausa rulers he opposed. Together with his other writings it provided the ideological framework of Sokoto governance, setting Islamic law as the standard by which rulers were judged.
