Person
Koxinga
Koxinga, born Zheng Chenggong, was a seventeenth-century Ming loyalist commander who resisted the Qing conquest of China from bases on the south-eastern coast. In 1662 he expelled the Dutch East India Company from Taiwan after besieging Fort Zeelandia. The loss of Taiwan was a notable setback for the Dutch Empire in East Asia.
