Kufra
Kufra is a group of oases in the Libyan Desert of south-eastern Libya. In 1895 the Senussi order moved its headquarters there, making it a hub of the caravan trade between Cyrenaica and Wadai. Italian forces captured it in 1931, and Free French troops under Leclerc took it from the Italians in 1941.
