La Chaux-de-Fonds

La Chaux-de-Fonds is a town in the Jura mountains of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, at about 1,000 metres. Rebuilt on a grid plan after a fire in 1794, it grew into a world centre of watchmaking, and together with Le Locle it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its watchmaking town planning. It is the birthplace of the architect Le Corbusier.
