Lahore Resolution
The Lahore Resolution was adopted by the All-India Muslim League at its session in Lahore in March 1940. It called for independent states in the Muslim-majority areas of north-western and eastern British India, and became the basis of the demand for Pakistan. It is often called the Pakistan Resolution, and 23 March is celebrated as Pakistan Day.
