Lal Kot
Lal Kot is the earliest identifiable fortified city of Delhi, a citadel in the south of the modern city whose building is attributed to the Tomara king Anangapala II in the 11th century. The Chahamana ruler Prithviraj Chauhan extended it as Qila Rai Pithora in the 12th century, and after the Ghurid conquest of 1192 it became the core of the first Delhi Sultanate city, around the Qutb Minar.
