Lancashire

Lancashire is a county in north-west England that became the centre of the British cotton textile industry during the Industrial Revolution. Its mills processed raw cotton imported from overseas and exported finished cloth across the world, including to India. The industry tied Lancashire closely to the trade networks of the British Empire.
