Les Trois-Îlets

Also known as Trois-Îlets

Les Trois-Îlets is a commune on the south-west coast of Martinique, across the bay from Fort-de-France. Joséphine de Beauharnais, the first wife of Napoleon and Empress of the French, was born on her family's sugar estate of La Pagerie there in 1763. The estate is now a museum, and the commune is known for its pottery and as a tourist centre.
