Loe Thai

14th century · 14th century · Also known as Lerthai

Loe Thai was king of Sukhothai in the early fourteenth century, the son and successor of Ram Khamhaeng. During his reign many of the distant dependencies gathered by his father broke away, and the kingdom shrank to its core around the Yom and Nan valleys. He is remembered as a patron of Buddhism, and was succeeded after a period of disputes by Li Thai.
