Ludwigstrasse
The Ludwigstrasse is a monumental avenue in Munich, laid out for Ludwig I of Bavaria from 1816, running north from the Odeonsplatz and the Feldherrnhalle to the Siegestor. Its southern part was designed by Leo von Klenze and its northern part by Friedrich von Gärtner, who built the Bavarian State Library, the Ludwigskirche and the university buildings along it.
