Luwero Triangle
The Luwero Triangle is an area of central Uganda north of Kampala, centred on the Luweero district of Buganda. It was the main battleground of the Bush War of 1981–1986 between Milton Obote's government and Yoweri Museveni's National Resistance Army, and counter-insurgency operations by the Uganda National Liberation Army killed very large numbers of civilians there. Memorials with the remains of victims stand in the area.
