Lydians
The Lydians were the people of the kingdom of Lydia in western Anatolia. They were known for their cavalry and wealth, and for being among the first to mint coins. After Cyrus the Great's conquest of Lydia, Lydians became subjects of the Achaemenid Empire, which drew on its subject peoples for military service.
