Macedonian Empire
The Macedonian Empire was the empire created by Alexander the Great, who conquered the Achaemenid Empire and reached as far as the Indus between 334 and 323 BCE. After his death it broke apart into the successor kingdoms, including the Ptolemaic and Seleucid empires. Its conquests spread Greek language and culture across the Near East, inaugurating the Hellenistic age.
