Madhura Vijayam
Madhura Vijayam ('The Conquest of Madurai') is a Sanskrit poem written in the 14th century by Gangadevi, wife of the Vijayanagara prince Kumara Kampana. It recounts his campaigns in the Tamil country, his defeat of the Sambuvaraya rulers and the overthrow of the Madurai Sultanate around 1370. Rediscovered in manuscript in 1916, it is an important source for early Vijayanagara history.
