Magnus the Good
Magnus the Good was king of Norway from 1035 and of Denmark from 1042 to 1047, the son of Olaf II, Norway's patron saint. Nobles who had turned against Danish rule brought him back as a boy from exile in Kievan Rus'. Through an agreement with Harthacnut he inherited Denmark, which he defended against the Wends at Lyrskov Heath in 1043. He shared Norway with his uncle Harald Hardrada from 1046 and died the following year.
