Malbork Castle
Malbork Castle, German Marienburg, is a vast brick fortress on the Nogat river in northern Poland, built by the Teutonic Order from the late 13th century. From 1309 it was the seat of the Grand Master and capital of the Order's state in Prussia. It withstood a Polish siege after the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, but passed to Poland in 1457 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
