Margrave of Brandenburg

The Margrave of Brandenburg was the ruler of the March of Brandenburg in north-eastern Germany. Under the Golden Bull of 1356 the margrave was one of the seven prince-electors of the Holy Roman Empire. From 1415 the title was held by the Hohenzollern family, whose Brandenburg-Prussian state later grew into the Kingdom of Prussia.
