Miknasa
The Miknasa were a Berber tribal group of medieval North Africa. Sufri Kharijites among them founded Sijilmasa in the Tafilalt oasis in 757, and the Midrarid emirs who ruled it came from their ranks. In the 10th century Miknasa leaders served the Fatimids and then ruled parts of northern Morocco, and the city of Meknes takes its name from them.
